Hair transplant
A consultation-led approach to surgical hair restoration, designed around your pattern of hair loss, donor area and realistic goals.
At a glance
Hair transplant in Lahore
Hair transplantation moves growing follicles from a donor area to thinning or bald parts of the scalp. It redistributes your existing hair; it does not create an unlimited supply of new follicles.
Your concerns
A receding hairline or thinning crown
The first question is why your hair is thinning. Gradual pattern hair loss, sudden shedding and patchy loss can need different treatment. Examination, medical history and sometimes blood tests or a scalp biopsy help establish the cause.
Overview
Coverage depends on the donor area
A useful hair-restoration plan balances the area you want covered with the hair available for transplantation. Hair texture, donor density and the direction of growth affect the appearance of coverage. A densely packed youthful hairline may not be achievable or appropriate.
Consultation & suitability
Plan for future hair loss too
Discuss when the thinning started, family history, previous treatment and the result you would consider worthwhile. The surgeon examines the scalp and donor supply. Continuing hair loss matters: a design that looks appropriate now should also make sense if surrounding hair thins later.
Treatment approach
FUE and strip-based transplantation
FUE
Follicular unit extraction, or FUE, harvests small groups of follicles individually.
Strip-based transplantation
Strip-based transplantation removes a strip of donor scalp that is divided into grafts.
Donor considerations
Both place follicles into recipient sites; neither is scar-free. The trade-offs include donor scarring, hairstyle preferences and the amount of hair available.
Your treatment journey
Assessment, graft placement and review
Treatment typically involves numbing the scalp, collecting donor follicles and placing grafts in the planned areas. The team then explains how to protect the grafts and care for the donor site. Whether treatment is completed in one session depends on its extent.
Recovery & aftercare
Healing first, growth later
Tenderness, swelling and crusting can occur initially. Some people return to desk work within several days, while exercise needs longer. Follow the operating team’s washing and activity instructions. Transplanted hairs can shed before regrowing; this early shedding does not by itself mean the transplant has failed.
Results & expectations
Allow time to judge growth
Visible improvement develops gradually over months. A final assessment may take around a year, rather than a few weeks. Density and coverage vary, and another procedure may sometimes be considered. Surgery does not prevent hereditary thinning in the hair that remains around the grafts.
Risks & considerations
Understand the donor and recipient risks
Risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, altered sensation and grafts that do not grow as expected. An uneven or unnatural-looking result may need further assessment. Contact your treating team promptly about increasing redness, fever, severe pain or discharge.
Alternatives & related care
Surgery is one option
Treating an underlying cause may be more important than transplantation. Medicines such as minoxidil or, for suitable patients, prescription finasteride can help manage pattern hair loss. Camouflage, hairpieces or choosing no treatment are also valid options. Medication suitability and side effects need individual discussion.
Frequently asked questions
Questions before you decide
How many grafts will I need?
There is no reliable graft count from a treatment name alone. The size of the thinning area and the quality and quantity of donor hair must be assessed together.
Will a transplant stop the rest of my hair falling out?
No. Hereditary hair loss can continue despite surgery. Ask how non-transplanted hair will be monitored and whether medical treatment is appropriate.
Is FUE the best choice for everyone?
No single harvesting method suits every donor area or goal. Ask the surgeon to explain the scar pattern and practical trade-offs of the recommended approach.

How outcomes are assessed
A meaningful outcome is considered in context: your starting concern, the agreed treatment plan, recovery and review over time.
